The Motivating Force of Purportedly Random Useless Facts
For some unfamiliar reason, humanity are inclined to prize and occasionally soak up useless knowledge. This random useless knowledge is the resultant of thousands of years of fact collection and arrangement performed by nations all over the Earth. Our draw to useless knowledge facts may be just as much a result of our own existential itch to gather statistics to help us discover ourselves inside that world. Our identity may very well be in the myriad knowledge gathered since the beginning of published human culture.
While we are oftentimes confused about the significance of these factoids, we are also motivated by them. Lists of these seemingly useless bits of knowledge have been collected for ages. Even in modern times, we see them in tomes like “Guinness World Records”, whose publication has arrived in the hands of many millions members of our species. Within these lists, we find that our own different worries and neuroticisms aren’t so peculiar. This provides us with a level of comfort that may help us continue traveling in the mode we have become accustomed to.
If we lasted in a world whose goals and needs were not compiled, our our own enduring heart might also be mangled by time.
