Long Term Memory Improvement Techniques

If you got the cause and effect, stimulus and response, the common sense of it, it registers for long term memory. Next, Association must occur between the new idea and something you already know and have in long term memory. Magic Question: What does this remind me of? What is it like? Where have I experience something similar ? even a part of it will do.
Reading rate: Time(seconds)/Time(Minutes) Comprehension Level Reading Speed 1: Reading Speed 2: Reading Speed 3: Reading Speed 4: As you practice reading, take note of how many words make up the article you are trying to speed read. Once you are through, try to calculate the amount of time it took you to complete it and record this as either per minute or seconds. Therefore memories can’t be considered left or right brained. There are three types of memory – sensory, short-termed, and long term. Sensory memory is the initial memory upon observing an item. Sensory memory can hold 10+ items of information but the information can be forgotten within seconds. For example, you see a box with writing on it for only one second, but you can still recall the size, color, and placement of the box if asked. However, you can’t remember what was written on the box. Information in sensory memory will be moved to short-term memory after continued observation. In time not only do you learn to read faster, but also comprehend the information faster, which helps in increasing your recall abilities. So speed-reading is simply not about how quickly you can read. It involves much more of your brain centers and attention and thus in the process, it greatly enhances your comprehension and creativity skills. Since speed-reading is a kind of non-linear style, it combines well with mindmapping, which is based primarily on non-linear ways of absorbing information.
