Badminton Courts to Be Built in Indoor Stadium at Indian Settlement
An indoor stadium with accompanying badminton courts are reportedly set to be built in a settlement in India with a target finish date a year from now.
The plan for this Rs 1 crore project began after there’s a growing need for sports and recreation in the housing facility. The foundation stone for the aforementioned project was laid by both Minister Suresh Kumar and Member of Parliament Ananth Kumar on Monday this week.
Minister and Local Legislative Member Suresh Kumar said in his speech during the gathering that deadlines were not set for every pending project that has been planned for Rajajinagar facility. He recently visited the slum area in Chamundeshwarinagar to personally hand over the keys to the sixteen recipients of sixteen newly built houses. This is under the eighteen percent grant scheme for ST/SCs. There are 454 houses left to be made with each structure costing Rs 3 lakh.
The process involving the turnover is expected to be laid out early next month with the start of the construction expected to take place within the said time period.
Due to growing popularity of badminton in the country, there’s a growing demand for establishment of badminton courts which would certainly help the younger players test out their skills and eventually bid for national and international glory on the sport.
